Understanding the Host Home Model
A “Host Home” is a residential program model providing people with
developmental disabilities a stable home environment. The program is
designed to allow a person to live with a family or individual without
disabilities.
The focus of this model is to get away from constantly changing staff
situations. In essence, the person becomes a member of the family.
